Research and Advocacy
"Speak out for those who cannot speak, for the rights of all the destitute. Speak out, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy." - Proverbs 31:8-9
Please take a moment to view our research pipeline. These are the research projects we have completed, currently have in the works, or are planning on doing. A lot of prayer and discernment goes into these, so please pray for us as we try to live out our vocation!

Legislative Advocacy
Legislative advocacy is a crucial part of building God's kingdom here on Earth. Our legislative efforts have been largely successful, and we look forward to continuing our mission to help federal and state laws to reflect God's will for all of us. Careful research and discernment goes into each of the provisions we advocate for when making our case. Our goal is to glorify God, not to pursue a personal or partisan agenda. Please take a look below to see what we currently have in the works.
West Virginia
Funding For Flood Resiliency Trust Fund
Current Status: Legislation Drafted - Awaiting Vote
In 2023, the Republican led State Legislature voted to create the Funding Resiliency Trust Fund in West Virginia. As our ministry engaged in disaster relief and food delivery throughout 2024 and 2025, we noticed the mass level of destruction caused by recent flood. Though the trust fund was created, no money was ever appropriated to the fund. We aim to change this, and our promise is that through our advocacy, this will be funded without putting a burden on taxpayers. We need to look out for our neighbors.
Ohio and Pennsylvania
Abolition of the Death Penalty
Current Status: Awaiting Moratorium Status
As it currently stands, both Ohio and Pennsylvania have not banned the death penalty, though the Governors of each respective state have placed moratoriums on the practice. As a ministry that values forgiveness and the preservation of all life, we are working to get Governor Shapiro (D-PA) and Governor Mike DeWine (R-OH) to further extend these moratoriums.
Tennessee
Grocery Sales Tax Cut
Current Status: Contacting Legislators
The cost of living all over America is too high, simply put. In the Appalachian region, this issue is only compounded by higher rates of poverty. We are reaching out to state legislators in Tennessee to cut the tax on groceries. Our organization believes that people shouldn't have to pay more just to be able to eat. That's one of the reasons we deliver food throughout the entire region.
West Virginia
Eliminating the Income Tax
Current Status: Legislation Drafted - Awaiting Vote
West Virginia has a population of only 1.77 million people, but posted a budget surplus in 2024 that was upwards of $700 Billion. With a low per capita-income, there is no reason that the income tax can't be cut. With some careful financial planning, and increased fiscal restraint, the abolition of the income tax can become a reality, and help lift thousands out of poverty while preserving the State's fiscal integrity. We are called by the Lord to be more responsible with our financial resources.
West Virginia
Eliminating The Property Tax
Current Status: Legislation Drafted - Awaiting Vote
The Catholic Church asserts the moral right for one to rightfully maintain ownership and protect one's property. It is an essential human dignity and freedom. So why are we ok with the idea that you can lose the property you paid for if you do not pay taxes on it? This is an objectively moral wrong, and the financial numbers don't justify the tax. We are joining the push to have this repealed.
West Virginia
Banning Mifepristone and Misoprostol
Current Status: Legislation Drafted - Awaiting Vote
In accordance with our Catholic faith, we stand strongly against any measure that takes a life. And yet despite West Virginia's near-total ban on abortion, the trafficking of abortion pills is still allowed in the state. We will advocate for the ban of abortion pills such as Mifepristone and Misoprostol in the state. It is our job to be a voice for the voiceless.
